My name is Reyzan Shali. I’m a primary care physician, board certified in Internal Medicine, and practicing in the San Diego area. I’m a mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. But first and foremost, I’m a proud Kurdish daughter of two great Kurdish parents from the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
A journey like mine does not happen without the love and support of so many and definitely cannot happen without the doubt and rejection of so many more.
I have raised two wonderful boys, built a successful practice, and made meaningful lifelong connections with people from all over the world. All while repeatedly being made to believe I’m inferior, unworthy, and unaccepted by more people than I’d like to acknowledge.
All along my resilient spirit did not give in. I managed to focus on positivity rather than negativity and kept moving forward.
Come along with me on this unique journey as we explore what we feel like exploring. We will write what we feel passionate about, making all kinds of grammar and punctuation mistakes. But know that I will always speak from the heart. More importantly, I will continue to stay resilient, authentic, and positive.
